Diagnosed with post traumatic stress, anxiety, and depression, I found my calling during my 30+ years in the fitness and entertainment industry as an educator, nurturer, and motivator of mental health awareness and causes while coping and managing my own stressors & activations.
As a Certified Yoga Instructor, Meditation Teacher & Guide, Breathwork for Rehabilitation & Self-Introspection Instructor, and Emotional Leadership Trainer, I specialize in mindful resiliency for trauma recovery/healing-centered and compassion fatigue. My passion for advocacy of mental health awareness has taken me around the world teaching private and group classes in yoga, movement, meditation. I share my personal journey to inspire others towards becoming their most authentic selves, mentally, physically, soulfully, and spiritually.
My expert practices and teachings have taken me into classrooms around the country as an adjunct professor at Columbia University and guest panelist and instructor at Rutgers University, Fordham University, University of Michigan, Manhattan College in the Bronx and other institutes of higher learning.
As a 7-year U.S. Navy Veteran (I was a U.S. Navy Hospital Corpsman, where I literally helped deliver babies!), I work with the Veterans Yoga Project as an Ambassador and Primary Teacher, supporting recovery and resilience of Veterans, many of which experience post-traumatic stress, trauma-related challenges, and other mental health issues. I not only serve the Veteran community, but active duty/reservists armed forces members, their spouses, their families, and the community at large.
Based in New York City, I also frequently collaborate with other internationally recognized fitness & wellness studios and multiple apps as a personal coach and advisor, and as an on-camera & voiceover personality and instructor in those spaces.
In my limited spare time, I play with Oscar, Tony, Grammy, and Emmy-award winning collaborators on major network TV shows and theatrical stages around the world as an actor, singer, fight and dance choreographer, stuntman, and voiceover artist. I’ve even got a few modeling credits to my name. (No seriously, check out my Artist tab for the proof!) A proud 1st generation Mexican-American, I’m humbled to make NYC my landing pad.
